OnePlus and Oppo Set to Integrate Google's Powerful Gemini Ultra AI
OnePlus and Oppo are ramping up the AI capabilities of their smartphones by bringing in Google's cutting-edge AI technology, Gemini Ultra 1.0.
Gemini Ultra 1.0, a beefed-up version of Google's Gemini Large Language Model, was previously only available on more powerful computing platforms and notably missing from even Google's own Pixel 8 Pro, which uses the less capable Gemini Nano.
Originally designed for cloud-based operations, the Ultra version can be used to manage complex tasks with features like an advanced Gemini chatbot.

Bringing Gemini Ultra to OnePlus and Oppo phones could potentially give these brands a competitive edge, especially against rivals like Samsung’s Galaxy S24 Ultra which incorporates the less sophisticated Gemini Pro.
Although details are still unfolding about which models will incorporate Gemini Ultra and when they'll be available, the hype is building around features like generative photo editing and improved chat assistance, which are also seen in competitors like the Galaxy S24 and Pixel 8 series.
We could see a dramatic enhancement of the user experience on OnePlus and Oppo smartphones, placing them at the forefront of the AI-enhanced smartphone market.
As the smartphone AI scene becomes increasingly competitive, the inclusion of Gemini Ultra in OnePlus and Oppo devices not only elevates their tech game but also points to a growing trend of collaboration between major smartphone makers and tech giants like Google.
