Quora has introduced a new AI chatbot called 'Poe'

Quora has announced it is opening public access to its new AI chatbot app, Poe which stands for “Platform for Open Exploration”, that will let users ask questions and get answers from a range of AI-powered chatbots.

This was announced by the company's CEO, Adam D'Angelo in a tweet this past week.

The Poe app is launched as a standalone product that’s independent of Quora itself and is currently powered by models from OpenAI and Anthropic. It offers users an easy-to-use chat interface with AI-powered bots.

First announced in December last year, with only limited access, it is now widely available to users on iOS, however, the company promises it will be adding support for all major platforms in the next few months, along with more bots.

Users can switch between the three different AI chatbots available at launch. This includes the general knowledge chatbots Sage, Claude, and Dragonfly. Both Sage and Dragonfly are powered by OpenAI while Claude is powered by Anthropic technology.

Quora says that the model will later be distributed on Quora’s site itself, where it can reach its 400 million monthly visitors once it delivers a high enough quality standard.
