The release cycle is nearly complete again, and it’s almost time for Samsung—one of the biggest players in the Android world—to unveil its latest lineup at its Galaxy Unpacked event.

In a post on X, the company confirmed that the event will take place on January 22, 2025, and many are looking forward to seeing Samsung's latest advancements, especially the Galaxy S25 series.

How to Watch Galaxy Unpacked 2025

You can watch the event live on Samsung’s official website, Samsung Newsroom, or the Samsung YouTube channel at 10 a.m. PT (1 p.m. ET) on January 22.

What to Expect at Galaxy Unpacked 2025

Galaxy S25 Series

The Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, and S25 Ultra are the main stars of the show. These phones are expected to be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite, the chip touted as the "fastest in the world."

It also won't be surprising to see the devices running on One UI 7, Samsung’s latest software right out of the box, showcasing all the updates and AI features Samsung promised at the SDC event last year.

In terms of display size, the S25 is rumoured to come with a 6.16-inch screen, just slightly larger than the iPhone 16's 6.12-inch display. While the difference isn't huge, it places the S25 a tad ahead of its Apple counterpart.

The S25 Plus and S25 Ultra are expected to feature 6.86-inch displays, putting them just shy of the iPhone 16 Pro Max, which measures in at 6.9 inches. This trend of slightly larger screens in flagship devices is clearly becoming a norm so it's not surprising that Samsung nearly matches the size of the iPhone.

As for the camera, the S25 Ultra is rumoured to get a major upgrade, featuring a 200MP rear camera, alongside 50MP ultra-wide and 50MP telephoto lenses (5x zoom), with an additional 50MP telephoto lens for enhanced zoom capabilities. With these potential upgrades in both camera and display, Samsung enthusiasts are sure to be excited.

Galaxy AI

This event will also spotlight improvements to Galaxy AI, which promises to make the user experience even smarter. Paired with One UI 7, Galaxy AI is rumoured to borrow some features from Apple's Apple Intelligence, such as the notification summary feature. However, we’ll have to wait for Samsung’s official unveiling to know for sure.

Regardless, Galaxy AI is expected to enhance camera performance, improve battery management, and create more personalized experiences, adapting to users' habits over time.

Project Moohan XR Headset

At the Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event, Samsung is also expected to unveil its Project Moohan XR headset, designed to enhance virtual and augmented reality experiences. While details are still scarce, early rumours suggest the headset will offer an immersive experience for gaming, virtual meetings, and other interactive applications.

With cutting-edge visuals and intuitive controls, the Moohan XR headset could redefine how we connect with digital environments. As Samsung looks to compete with the likes of Meta's Oculus, this device could play a key role in advancing the future of XR technology.

New Galaxy Accessories

In addition to all these, there are rumours of new Galaxy accessories making their debut, including a possible Galaxy Watch 7, Galaxy Ring 2 and Galaxy Buds 3. The Galaxy Watch 7 is expected to bring more health-tracking features, while the Galaxy Buds 3 is rumoured to feature a refreshed design similar to Apple's AirPods.

The Galaxy Ring 2 might also debut at this event. It's rumoured to offer advanced health and fitness tracking features, providing deeper insights into sleep patterns, fitness activity, and biometric data. It might also include upgraded sensors for more accurate health measurements, as well as improved connectivity with other Samsung devices for a more seamless user experience.

Additionally, word going around is that Samsung might unveil a new health subscription service to go with it, which could offer users personalized fitness and wellness recommendations.

Conclusion

Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked 2025 is shaping up to be an event packed with exciting new products, from the Galaxy S25 series to innovative wearables like the Galaxy Ring 2. Don’t miss the live stream on January 22, and be ready to discover what Samsung has in store for the future of mobile technology.
