Samsung expects to make over $100 million from the sale of advanced chips

Samsung Electronics, currently valued at $382.25 billion, per CompaniesMarketCap data, is expecting to make $100 million or even more in revenue from its next batch of advanced chip packaging products by the second half of this year.

The company's revenue stood at $196.77 billion in 2023, down from $233.13 billion in 2022, according to its financial reports.

Its chip packaging products business, which began last year, has witnessed steady progress, as the CEO, Kye-Hyun Kyung, believes that the profit share they expect to make could surpass their market share this year. The tech giant’s market share in DRAM chips used in tech devices reached 38.9% in the third quarter of last year, according to data from Statista.

Samsung plans to establish a competitive advantage in the high-end memory chip market and has started doing so with its production of HBM chips called HBM4, set to be released in 2025 with more customized designs.
