Shopify rolls out its AI-powered assistant for merchants

Shopify is rolling out its AI-powered assistant, Sidekick, offering merchants a valuable new tool for their operations. Announced as part of Shopify’s Summer 24 Edition updates, Sidekick is designed to assist with tasks like creating discount codes, generating store reports, and even suggesting blog post ideas.

Currently available in early access, Sidekick is live for thousands of merchants with English stores in North America. If you’re keen to try it out and don’t yet have access, you can join the waitlist. Shopify also plans to expand Sidekick to other languages and regions in the future.

The e-commerce platform is also introducing AI-powered product categorization. This feature can automatically suggest relevant categories for your product listings, saving you time and effort. Additionally, Shopify Inbox now includes AI-suggested replies for customer chats, aiding swift responses.

Shopify’s AI-powered image generator, launched earlier this year, is now also available on both iOS and Android apps, allowing merchants to use it more flexibly across their admin tasks.
