CHART: Starlink has become the third largest ISP in Nigeria

In just a little over a year since its launch, Elon Musk-owned satellite internet service, Starlink has attracted significant interest, especially from Nigerians that have grappled with unreliable internet connectivity, becoming the country's third-largest Internet Service Provider (ISP) by subscriber count in Q4 2023.

Officially launched in Nigeria in January 2023 (the first country in Africa to receive the service), data from the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) reveals Starlink's subscriber base increased by 113% in just three months.

This rapid expansion has positioned Starlink as a formidable competitor in Nigeria’s ISP sector, where it now trails only behind market leaders Spectranet and FiberOne.
