The biggest annual tech showcase, the Consumer Electronics Show, wrapped up its 2025 edition over the weekend – and we are still in a state of euphoria. As expected, the event unveiled some surprising innovations that could shape the future of tech as we know it.

With so many exciting announcements at CES 2025, Techloy's editorial team handpicked our top innovations from the event that stand out for their groundbreaking features, unique designs, and potential to shape the tech landscape.

From flying cars to rollable laptops, here are our top picks from CES 2025.

XPENG AEROHT’s Modular Flying Car

In what felt almost like a childhood dream come true, XPENG, a Chinese automaker, introduced its flying car, which allows users to explore the skies as they see fit.

The vehicle is a 6×6 tri-axle SUV with a foldable eVTOL drone in the trunk. This drone can be deployed for short flights, either in manual or autonomous modes. All for the jaw-dropping price of about $300,000.

But, price aside, the potential applications are nearly endless. Beyond its obvious use as a transportation option, this could be incredibly useful in emergencies, especially complex ones, given the compact size of the eVTOL. We can't wait to see these hit the road.

Lenovo Thinkbook Plus Gen 6 (Rollable Laptop)

The Lenovo Thinkbook might initially seem like any other typical laptop, with none of the flashy AI features we've come to expect in some modern devices. The 14-inch OLED screen, while sharp, doesn’t particularly stand out at first glance. However, once you pick it up, you'll immediately notice something different—its weight. At around 1.69kg, it feels slightly unique compared to other laptops in its class.

But the real magic happens with the press of a button (or a simple palm-up gesture). The screen gradually expands to 16.7 inches, offering nearly 50% more screen real estate for multitasking and productivity.

While this extra screen height may seem niche, it could be particularly useful for those who work with code or spreadsheets, making it an ideal choice for professionals. Of course, with a price tag of $3,500, it may be out of reach for many. Still, beyond just offering a larger screen, this innovation sets a precedent for future laptops that could feature rollable displays—something we may see more of as the tech evolves.

LG G5 OLED TV

This LG TV comes with standard upgrades, too: a bright 2000-nit screen, a 4K display, 'Perfect Color technology' (which basically means better colours), and a 165Hz refresh rate. But unlike most other TVs unveiled at CES, this one incorporates a bit of AI into its system.

LG partnered with Microsoft to integrate Copilot, which opens up a new level of content consumption. With Copilot, LG claims you’ll receive more personalized recommendations, be able to control your TV with your voice, and even get answers to questions about whatever is on screen, making your TV feel more personal—almost like a super-sized phone.

Whether this is necessary or not has sparked considerable debate online, but with the increasingly hands-off approach of smart home devices, it almost feels natural to be able to interact with almost any part of your home in a more intuitive way.

Sony's Future Immersive Entertainment Concept

The best games are the ones that truly engage your senses. But with the current technology available, games are limited in how they appeal to nearly every sense. At CES this year, Sony announced something that might push those boundaries just a little further.

With Sony's Future Immersive Entertainment Concept, gamers might soon have the chance to actually smell what they’re playing—and we’re here for it. Imagine loading up a game of Call of Duty and almost tasting the gunpowder as the smell fills the air.

The immersion would be all-encompassing, with users surrounded by a box featuring display panels everywhere. This setup could be interacted with using real-world tools, like flashlights that only illuminate the areas they are pointed at—creating a more authentic VR experience.

Sony claims this setup would fit into living rooms, although that seems unlikely at the moment, given the sheer size of it and the potential cost of the entire system. Still, it would be amazing to finally feel truly transported to another world when gaming.

Halliday Smart Glasses

Diving into AR, the Halliday Smart Glasses aim to do almost the opposite of what Sony's immersive experience was trying to achieve. Fit into a compact form factor, these glasses bring the digital world into the real one. The gesture-controlled smart ring also reminds me of Meta's Ray-Ban glasses, though these don’t appear nearly as bulky.

The glasses are equipped with an AI assistant, offering many of the recurring features we've seen at CES this year, like language translation. But in addition to that, the glasses can apparently fact-check information, provide answers to questions, give navigational directions, and even double as a teleprompter for presentations and speeches—making them perfect for all things discreet

Omnia AI Smart Mirror

Withings is taking health tech to a whole new level with the Omnia AI Smart Mirror, a device that goes far beyond your average mirror. This innovative product offers a full-body 360-degree scan, tracks body composition, and even analyzes posture, making it an all-encompassing wellness tool for your home.

What makes the Omnia truly stand out is its ability to integrate with Withings' comprehensive health ecosystem. Through an AI-powered assistant, it delivers real-time data and insights directly to users, creating a personalized health experience like never before. While we don’t have a set release date or price yet, the Omnia has the potential to reshape the future of home wellness tech, bringing advanced health monitoring right into your living room.

EarFun Air Pro 4+

The EarFun Air Pro 4+ earbuds are setting a new standard for wireless audio with their cutting-edge features. One of the standout capabilities is AI-powered real-time language translation, making them an excellent choice for travellers or anyone who needs to overcome language barriers.

On top of that, the earbuds boast exceptional audio quality, thanks to Balanced Armature and BassSurge™ 10mm drivers, delivering a perfect blend of deep bass and crisp treble. The aptX Lossless technology ensures superior sound clarity, while QuietSmart™ 3.0 noise cancellation promises to block up to 50dB of background noise, providing a more immersive listening experience.

With up to 54 hours of battery life, fast wireless charging, and the ability to connect to multiple devices, the EarFun Air Pro 4+ offers a versatile and reliable solution for all your audio needs. Priced at $99.99, these earbuds are expected to hit the market in May 2025 through Myearfun and Amazon.

Anker’s Wearable Solar Panel Jacket

When you see the Anker jacket, it's hard not to be drawn to its style and 'aura.' With its neon strip and triangular panels, it looks like something straight out of a cyberpunk world. But CES isn’t a fashion show, so it’s no surprise that the jacket isn’t just eye candy.

According to Anker, the jacket is covered in perovskite solar cells that work together to charge your devices at 30W—essentially supercharging most phones available today.

This could pave the way for more clothing materials to double as power sources, potentially eliminating the need for bulky power banks and instead incorporating the extra charging capacity directly into your clothing.

This quirky mix of gadgets shows just how tech is becoming both fun and functional.

Conclusion

These top picks from CES 2025 not only showcase the latest in cutting-edge technology but also point toward the future of how we’ll interact with tech. Whether it's through immersive gaming experiences, revolutionary new modes of transport, or AI-powered smart devices, these innovations reflect broader trends in the industry. We're excited to see how these products evolve and change the way we engage with the world around us.
