Thailand's agritech startup Freshket raises $23.5 million in Series B

Freshket, a Thailand-based agri-tech startup has raised $23.5 million in its Series B funding round led by PPT Oil and Retail Business Public Company Limited (OR).

  • The funds will help the firm to strengthen its supply chain technology, improve its operational efficiency, and expand in Thailand with new categories of products, it claims.
  • The startup plans to develop demand forecasting technology to ensure transparency for all parties, reduce food waste, and improve quality upstream for entrepreneurs.
  • Launched in 2017, Freshket is a tech-focused startup providing food businesses and its customers with fresh agricultural produce sourced directly from local farmers and suppliers.
  • Openspace, Betagro Holding, ORZON Ventures, and Volta Circle participated in the funding round.
