Threads is Launching 'Hidden Words' Feature That Will Let You Filter Out Words
Meta-owned social media platforms can't seem to catch a break these past few weeks, as they have been very busy releasing new features in a bid to offer a more immersive experience to users.
The latest in this line of development is Threads, which is now launching a new feature that lets users filter out words and phrases from their feeds and mentions. What this simply means is that you will no longer have to tolerate those annoying texts that keep popping up on your feed.
The new feature called "Hidden Words" would also allow you to mute words, phrases, and emojis that you dislike. You would also be able to add custom words and phrases in your app settings, which is something you can toggle on and off anytime you like. This new feature will apply to content from both the "Following" and "For You" feeds, search results, profiles, and replies to posts.
While you get ready to play around with this new feature, Threads is promising that it will release another feature sometime in the future that would allow you to have control over quote posts. This means when the feature gets released, you will get to limit the number of people who can quote your posts and, at the same time, be able to unquote your posts as well.
The social media platform believes that privacy is paramount, given that it boasts 150 million monthly active users, and wants to limit as many unwanted interactions as possible.
