Tinder now lets users share their date plans

Individuals who have found a potential match on Tinder can now let their friends and family know who they are hanging out with, as the online dating app has introduced a "Share My Date" feature that allows users to share their date plans.

This new feature was announced on Monday, with Tinder confirming that the feature would be sent as a link straight from the app and would have specific details such as the upcoming date, the match’s name, meeting location, date, and time. The link can also be sent 30 days before the date and is editable, allowing users to make as many changes as possible.

Tinder has also mentioned that the feature was inspired by its user data, which showed that 51% of singles under 30 let their friends know the details of their dates beforehand. Similar to its Matchmaker feature, it has set the Share My Date link to expire after some time to prevent friends and family from sharing the personal information of potential partners on social media.

Hopefully, this new feature will meet expectations and help reverse Tinder's 8% decline in paying customers, which dropped to 10 million year-on-year from its 75 million monthly active users as of 2024, according to data from Business of Apps.

Users in the U.S., U.K., Australia, Canada, France, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, India, Germany, Ireland, Japan, Brazil, Singapore, Switzerland, Mexico, Korea, Vietnam, and Thailand can expect the feature in the coming months.
