Tinder now picks a dating profile picture for you, if you allow it
If you use the dating app Tinder, you might have struggled to choose the perfect photos for your display picture. I'm not on Tinder, but I suck at picking photos for use as display pictures generally on most apps.
But what if Tinder could help you pick a profile photo on its dating app, so you won't have to painstakingly filter a photo for about 30 minutes?
Yup, with 'Photo Selector', its new AI-powered feature, the dating app now helps users effortlessly choose their profile pictures from a curated selection of photos retrieved directly from their devices.
Tinder says that its Photo Selector will help you pick good profile pics, while you focus on "making meaningful connections". According to a Tinder study, it found that young singles spend 33 minutes on average selecting the right profile photo to use. So, this feature would help users to save time so they can focus on the swiping business of finding a date.
The Photo Selector feature is currently available in the U.S. beginning in July, and will be made available to its international markets later in the summer.
How to use Photo Selector on Tinder
- Simply snap a selfie for facial recognition
- Grant access to your camera roll
- Allow the AI feature to curate a selection of images for your review.
- Then, decide which pictures you want to select and add to your profile.
Remember that while AI can be your photo guru, your profile's overall charm is entirely still up to you. Whether or not you allow Tinder to choose a profile pic for you won't guarantee that you will find a date or true love, because your personality and interests are still important in the intriguing world of dating.
