Twitter is revamping its verification process, may charge users $20 per month
Twitter is reportedly planning to charge $19.99 per month for the new Twitter Blue subscription, according to The Verge.
The report further adds that verified users under the current plan would be given an ultimatum of 90 days to subscribe or risk losing their blue checkmark.
The Twitter Blue subscription, which is currently priced at $4.99 per month, launched widely almost a year ago offering exclusive access to premium features that let users customize their Twitter experience.
In May, the New York Times reported that Musk presented a pitch deck to Twitter investors where he claimed he would increase Twitter’s annual revenue to $26.4 billion by 2028, up from $5 billion in 2021 and increase subscriber revenue to 69 million Twitter Blue users by 2025.
With all of these incredibly ambitious plans for the platform's future, a radical shift in product development – including its latest homepage changes, talks of bringing back Vine, etc – which has already begun in the company is expected to continue for the long term.
