VMware Cloud on AWS expands to South Africa
Software company, VMware has announced that VMware Cloud on AWS is now available in the AWS Africa (Cape Town) Region.
VMware Cloud on AWS is an integrated cloud offering jointly developed by Amazon Web Services (AWS) and VMware, allowing users to migrate and extend their on-premises VMware vSphere-based environments to the AWS Cloud running on Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2), thereby delivering a highly scalable and secure service.
With VMware Cloud on AWS, customers across Africa can run workloads across VMware vSphere-based hybrid cloud environments with optimised access to Amazon Web Services, the company said in a statement made available to Techloy.
The cloud offering brings VMware’s enterprise-class software-defined data centre software to AWS bare metal infrastructure to run enterprise workloads more securely at scale, across both virtual machines and containers.
VMware and AWS have a deep and extensive partnership. Each company has created dedicated sales, solutions architects, and customer success teams to help customers realise the benefits of VMware Cloud on AWS.
