WhatsApp, the Meta-owned messaging platform, is said to be developing a new feature called 'admin review' on Android to give group admins better tools to moderate their groups.
With this feature, group members will be able to report specific messages to the admin, who can then choose to delete the message if it violates the group's rules. The new option will be located in the group settings section and reported messages will be visible only to group admins in a new section within group info.
While this feature is still in development, it will be available to beta testers in a future update.
In other news, WhatsApp is also reportedly rolling out a 'side-by-side' feature for Android tablets, allowing users to multitask between conversations without losing track of their ongoing chats on a single interface. This provides greater flexibility and control over the app interface.
Meanwhile, WhatsApp also announced a multi-device login feature that will allow users to use the same WhatsApp account on more than one phone. Users can now link their phone as one of up to four additional devices. This update has started rolling out to users globally and will be available to everyone in the coming weeks, the company said.
