WhatsApp gets a new status update
Over the past weeks, there have been several reports of WhatsApp having many updates still in the works. Most recently, there were reports of the messaging platform working on a new support feature, that would allow you to create usernames, instead of phone numbers to send messages to people.
Now, the platform has begun to roll out another update. This new update will allow you to view people's status updates, right from your viewers list.
From the screenshot, it appears this feature can easily be accessed by tapping on the ring around the users' names, allowing you to quickly and easily access their status.
With this feature, user experience is a bit better, with you not having to go to a whole other screen to view a massive influx of status updates from all your users. It also means you can easily keep tabs on those that keep tabs on you.
Although the feature is still under development, you can try it out now by updating your app through the Google Play Beta program. But, if you are not one to opt in for experimental and possibly bugged apps, you can wait till the update rolls out for the rest of us too.
Additionally, they released a feature that allows you to create GIFs using their AI tool, Meta. This allows for more creative ways of expressing themselves on the platform. This feature was announced earlier last month and adds a custom unique way to communicate.
