WhatsApp is Rolling Out Support for Longer Voice Messages in Status Updates
WhatsApp users will get access to the Voice Status feature once they update their apps on the Google Play Store or App Store.
WhatsApp users can now share their experiences for longer as WhatsApp is rolling out support for longer voice messages, which will now be one minute instead of the usual 30 seconds in status updates.
This comes after WhatsApp introduced us to the "Voice Status" feature in February 2023, although it had been working on this feature as far back as 2022.
Now, users can send longer voice messages for up to one minute and will no longer need to create so many consecutive updates to pass a message across, as was done before this new development.
However, for you to gain access to this feature, you will need to update your app on the Google Play Store or App Store before you can send one-minute-long voice messages.
This means that, unlike some features that come on their own to your app, you will have to manually check for WhatsApp updates or set your app to automatically get the latest updates as soon as they are available on the Google Play Store or App Store.
Note, however, that this is a staged roll-out, which means that the update might not show up for everyone at the same time so you might have to exercise patience if you don’t see this in your app yet.
Also, this would be the second new feature that WhatsApp is unveiling immediately to its non-beta users this month after it earlier unveiled its Passkey feature to all iOS users.
We hope the platform can make available other features that have been confirmed to be in beta, such as the "Locked Chats" feature and the "Channel Categories" feature, so that users can have a better real-time experience.
