WhatsApp rolls out passkey feature to all iOS users
With passkeys, you can secure your WhatsApp account using iPhone biometrics including Face ID, Touch ID, or your iPhone's passcode
To prioritize user safety and comfort, WhatsApp has rolled out a passkey feature on iOS that facilitates the security of your conversations and makes it easier to access your account.
This feature for the iOS version comes several months after Meta released it to Android WhatsApp users last October. It adds an extra layer of protection by leveraging the security features built into your iPhone.
With passkeys, you can secure your WhatsApp account using iPhone biometrics including Face ID, Touch ID, or your iPhone's passcode. This eliminates the risk of unauthorized access through stolen verification codes.
The passkey is securely stored in your iCloud Keychain, making it readily available even when you're offline. This means you can log in to WhatsApp without needing an internet connection, as long as you have your phone with you.
Additionally, using your phone's biometrics for verification offers a smoother and more convenient login experience.
