For years, desktop YouTube users have enjoyed the convenience of sharing specific moments within videos by adding timestamps to their links. However, this convenience has been notably absent from the mobile experience, leaving users to manually navigate to the desired point. Thankfully, that's all changing now.

YouTube is finally bringing timestamp sharing to its mobile app, making it easier to share the exact moment you want with friends and family. No more fumbling with URLs or copying and pasting timestamps.

Imagine finding a hilarious clip in a long video. With YouTube's new timestamp sharing, you can instantly send your friends a link that takes them directly to the funny part, saving them time and effort. It's like having a personal video curator.

There's however, a small catch, unlike the desktop version, the mobile app doesn’t allow for manual timestamp input. Instead, the app captures your current position in the video and uses that as the timestamp. If you want to adjust the timestamp, you'll need to scrub through the video to find the exact spot.

Despite the relatively less functionality on mobile, it is a small trade-off for the simplicity of sharing your current position. The feature is a welcome addition for mobile users who have long desired the convenience of timestamp sharing without the extra steps.

It’s important to note that this feature is still in the process of rolling out and may not be available to all users just yet. If you don’t see the option on your device, updating the app to the latest version and clearing its cache might help.
